As I mentioned in a recent email, Flexxers can play a big role in helping Light the Lamp catch fire in the hockey community. I have repeatedly asked that you update the hockey blog / discussion group list here --or at least chime in that you dont know of any-- and I have yet to hear anything from some of you which is very frustrating.
Here are other things you should be doing each week over the next 2-4 weeks with each new edition of LtL.
1) forward the LtL email you rec'v to your 'hockey-mafia' networks (cut email addresses from mass distribution hockey-related emails you rec'v and paste them into the "to" or "cc" fields) along with the forwarding message: Thought you'd be interested in this great new hockey enewsletter full of insights of pro coaches who happen to be youth hockey parents. This week's topic: _________________ (fill in the blank). If you want to sign up to get it delivered by email, click here.
2) If you are on Facebook, share the link at top of the LtL email EVERY WEEK in your status updates. When you copy the link into facebook, be sure to edit the default text so it's more user-friendly to read. I suggest editing the title of the link to read: Light the Lamp eNewsletter from flexxCOACH. And then cutting back the discriptive text that facebook picks up so it's less wordy. Finally, make sure what you write in your status update is not redundant with the text you just edited. Best to ask some kind of question that elicits comments. For this week an example would be: "Are you a parent that coaches from the stands"? "What do you think of them?" Think of this facebook entry as a advertisement to your friends attempting to get them to click thru and comment. When they comment, their friends see and that's how the viral fire gets lit!
3) New (3/18). If you are on FB, be sure to "like" flexxcoach (as requested in prior email). Also, after you like you have the option to invite your facebook friends to "like" as well. You can do this selectively by clicking on your hockey friends.
These two weekly activities will take you less than 5 minutes (especially if you save the emails in step 1).
